Dental Surgeon Dr. Kambiz Sadraei Offers Free Treatment to Cancer Patients

From dreading long and painful visits to the local dentist to receiving short and almost painless dental solutions in minutes, dental health sure has come a long way. Thanks to advancements made in technology and equipment, dentists have become miracle workers for the mouth. These reasons and more bring many people to Dr. Kambiz Sadraei’s doorsteps. As the recipient of America’s top dentist award in 2017 and 2018, Dr. Sadraei has shown his determination to help people become more confident with their smile and more focused on their dental hygiene. Dr. Sadraei knows the emotional role one’s dental hygiene plays in one’s well-being. Therefore, he also offers free treatment to cancer patients.

Needless to say, cancer can be a time of severe difficulties. Patients and their families often undergo trying times they hardly feel equipped to handle or deal with. At such moments, one might feel entirely exposed to vulnerabilities. Mounting hospital bills and rising uncertainties may come in the way of sound judgment and reliable reason. It’s during these moments that Dr. Sadraei’s healing hand offers a helping hand. He says, “Cancer puts families and individual lives into disarray. As a long-time illness, it can also lead to a developing sense of isolation and negativity in the individual and even family members. During these times, the news of free dental treatment comes as a way to shoulder soaring bills and even take a break from stress and negativity. People have often told me how the news of free treatment re-energized their fight against cancer. I think people feel taken care of, and that makes them feel stronger.”

We take our bodies for granted to such an extent that we seldom make serious inquiries about it until it stops to do as we desire. Our control over our body is involuntary, and we get used to the body healing itself. However, during cancer, we tend to become increasingly aware that our body has a mind of its own, and it will have its say. Dr. Sadraei adds, “You know how you feel when you lose control of your car’s steering wheel? You feel at the edge, and panic storms your stomach. Cancer can feel like that. You are aware of your body’s lack of compliance but are unable to do much about it. This experience is frustrating and often overwhelming. Even as one begins to recover, it has been observed that more than one-third of all cancer patients end up developing complications that affect the mouth area with mouth sores, infection, dry mouth, sensitive gums, jaw pain, and more. This causes additional physical, emotional, and financial discomfort and becomes too much to bear for the patient. Positivity and hope may well be immunity boosters, and in times of great peril, like those experienced by cancer patients, improved immunity can make a real difference.”

As our fight against cancer and its allied minions continues, here’s hoping that Dr. Sadraei’s work continues to make an impact in his life and in the lives of many others.
