Ali Pourmohamad, a successful Iranian director, producer and documentary maker, has recently won several awards at the Young Iranian Directors Film Festival. We asked him in an interview about his success and this award.
How do you see success as a young director?
“Success at a young age as a director is a great honor for me, and I’m happy to have won it, but in general I think all young directors feel the same way about these awards,” he said. I have received help from many people to achieve this title and these awards, and I have always learned different techniques from experienced directors.
How to succeed as a young director?
In response, he said, “As a young director, we have to go a long way to achieve awards and honors, and in this way, we must increase our knowledge and experience.” Also get help from experienced people who have been working in this profession for many years. Creating a relationship with a successful and experienced director who is older than us can lead us to great success that the young director is unaware of.
What do you owe your success to?
I see my success because of the constant effort every day and not being disappointed and continuing; To the extent that I was working every day from 8 am to 10 pm and raising my knowledge about this profession. I was reviewing different and new films in the world, I developed my relationship with different directors at the international level and I became friends with them, this led me to produce different works together and creatively and win different awards. So I suggest to all young directors not to be disappointed and as a creative director to increase their knowledge day by day and use the experiences of others.
What is your next goal in life?
Success and gaining other honors and awards! I have a goal for this, and I am going to use different techniques in my next projects and I hope that I can gain new honors and achievements in future projects as well.
