OVR has created a tokenized map of the entire surface of the world.
Using its Augmented Reality app it will be possible to assign a virtual land of OVR’s tokenized map to every place in the world.
Simply put, a virtual layer of 1.6 trillion hexagons has been overlaid on the world map.
The world map is the classic two-dimensional map that shows the earth’s surface with land, seas, rivers, mountains, cities, roads, etc., while the virtual map is an overlapping layer consisting of 1.6 trillion hexagons that cover the entire surface of the map.
This virtual layer has been tokenized, as each hexagon is actually a Land OVR, represented by a unique non-fungible token (NFT).
There are therefore 1.6 trillion unique OVR NFTs, each associated with a virtual land represented by a hexagon on the virtual layer of their map.
These NFTs, in ERC-721 format on the Ethereum blockchain, can be freely purchased, stored and exchanged.
Therefore anyone can acquire and hold ownership of one or more OVR land(s) simply by purchasing and holding the relevant NFT.
Each land can contain content, which will be shown by the app in Augmented Reality when standing at a given point on the Earth’s surface, thanks to GPS coordinates.
In this way, OVR’s lands will be associated to the physical world thanks to the position on the map, and users will be able to observe the content included in each land with the app, at any specific point on the earth’s surface.
Each land is unique, and there is only one piece of each NFT.
The lands are identified not only by location but also by a unique name consisting of three English words separated by dots, such as blue.sky.dream, which also determines the domain.
Therefore each point on the Earth’s surface will be accessible within the OVR ecosystem by geographic search, or the name of the relevant land.
NFTs can be purchased with the OVR token, which will be on sale from November 30th, 2020 through an IBCO, a public sale on a DEX where the purchase price varies according to the bonding curve, and tokens are issued only if sold.
