In the realm of beauty artistry, the International Beauty Industry Awards (IBI Awards) stands out as a mission-driven competition focused on inclusivity, transparency, and accessibility. Founded as the world’s first truly global hair and makeup competition, the IBI Awards have transformed into a platform and community that transcends borders and conventional beauty standards, by embracing artisans from all walks of life.

At the heart of the IBI Awards is a commitment to fairness and accessibility. With nearly 50 unique categories spanning from everyday makeup to unconventional styles, the competition consists of diverse talent within the beauty industry. Unlike traditional awards, the IBI Awards focus solely on the artistry of Beauty Artisans, disregarding factors such as social media following, celebrity clientele, or geographical location.

Born in the vibrant landscape of New York City, the IBI Awards shine a spotlight on the real, everyday, hard-working artists shaping the beauty industry. The competition is not just a showcase of skill, but of the dedication required to master the craft of hair and makeup. What sets the IBI Awards apart is not only its emphasis on inclusivity but also its commitment to transparency and independence. The competition is open to makeup and hair artists worldwide, with categories for all styles no matter who you are, where you’re from, or what you like.

To ensure an unbiased judging process, the Independent Judging Council operates without knowledge of entrants’ names, professional backgrounds, or origins, allowing the focus to remain on the artistry itself. Entries undergo meticulous numerical evaluation based on criteria such as Visual Success, Technical Execution, Creativity & Concept, and Overall Impression. Category winners are bestowed with the prestigious IBI Award Statuette, a luxurious and hand-crafted symbol of artistic excellence. Crafted by the same artisans responsible for legendary awards like the Golden Globes and Emmys, the IBI Award Statuette embodies the essence of inclusivity, designed to represent and celebrate the diversity of Beauty Artisans worldwide. The IBI Awards Statuette was included in the prestigious Mint Museum’s “Beyond the Red Carpet” exhibit only solidifying its status as an iconic award internationally.

As the IBI Awards continue to grow and expand, their vision remains unchanged. The awards ceremony is not just a competition; it’s a community that inspires and uplifts Beauty Artisans worldwide. With an ongoing call for entries until March 2024, the IBI Awards invite artists to join their artist-funded and artist-run platform. The entry fee is affordable, and awards and certificates are shipped to winners without additional fees. Students, the future of the industry, enter for free, embodying the IBI Awards’ commitment to supporting emerging talent because it’s about inspiring and uplifting each other as Beauty Artisans, making the IBI Awards a true platform for everyone, everywhere.
