When entrepreneur Yemani Mason reached a place in his life where he was financially comfortable and liberated from the shackles of the daily grind, he felt blessed. He also knew that he wanted to help as many other individuals as possible, to achieve the quality of life he was enjoying.
Yemani explained, “The French philosopher Albert Camus once wrote, ‘Freedom is nothing but a chance to be better.’ I feel that way about being financially independent. It bestows a sense of personal freedom, but freedom is nothing without responsibility. I regard it my responsibility to use the lessons I have learned, and the expertise I have picked up on my journey to benefit others who want to improve their circumstances.”
Yemani’s journey has been an interesting one. The 31-year-old from Kingston, Jamaica, has believed fiercely in the value of hard work and the importance of dreaming big. In 2012, he graduated from FIU with a Bachelors in International Business and Management and was determined to make an impact on the world.
Yemani said, “I was first inspired to enter the mortgage market after leaving college because my mother was a realtor. I felt I could help her. But more importantly, I wanted to help others achieve their dream of owning a home. I feel having a roof over our head that we can call our own is every individual’s birthright, and I have worked hard to make that a reality for many.”
While working in real estate, Yemani’s natural inquisitiveness and business sense led to him exploring other avenues and opportunities. The success generated further success and created its own momentum. Today, Yemani spends his time advising others on how best to use their time to improve the quality of their lives and achieve financial success and freedom.
Yemani explained, “American writer Elbert Hubbard once said, ‘Freedom cannot be bestowed – it must be achieved’. Yet, providing the framework to provide that freedom is invaluable. That, in essence, is what I do. My forthcoming book, ‘Lion Mentality: A Guide On How To Live A Fulfilled And Adventurous Life’ is a specific guide to helping others unlock their inner potential and fulfilling their destiny. I finally feel I have found my calling in life, and it involves helping others.”
