Nneamaka “Dr. Amaka” Nwubah’s accomplishments in life have served others on the inside and the outside.
As a plastic surgeon in Nashville, Tennessee, she specializes in cosmetic/aesthetic surgery of the face, breasts and body as well as reconstructive surgery of the breasts.
On her website, Dr. Amaka said: “One of the most unique and exciting aspects of being a plastic surgeon is the impact the work I do has on people. The opportunity to be part of patients’ journey, whether it be their weight loss journey, or their journey to be the best version of themselves, is amazing. Also, plastic surgery is a field that celebrates individuals and their unique nature. There are so many ways to go about achieving a goal or outcome that is individualized to the patient.”
In addition to her work as a plastic surgeon performing cosmetic, aesthetic surgery and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Amaka also helps those with treatment for the inside.
She has a cooking business, which she promotes on her main Instagram under the account username @dr_amakamd. She has more than 58,000 followers, and the social media influencer also offers an e-cookbook full of healthy dishes. She features her cooking and recipes on @cutupandcook on Instagram and at www.cutupandcook.com.
On the account, Dr. Amaka also promotes good mental health, offering advice and inspiration to her followers.
In a recent post, she shows her support for others in their life journeys.
“How big would you dream if you knew you couldn’t fail? Write down all the things you would do if you knew you wouldn’t fail. Done? Okay, now start to tackle them one step at a time. Stop defining yourself by the failures.”
Building others up is a passion for Dr. Amaka, who said she’s even turned patients away from having plastic surgery if she feels they aren’t mentally ready for the procedure.
“When I feel that they are doing it for the wrong reasons, or they have body dysmorphia where they believe something is a lot worse than it actually is, I don’t do the surgery,” she said.
Whether she is working with a patient on the outside or with a follower on the inside, Dr. Amaka takes her role as a doctor seriously. She said she is proud of the progress she has made in life and hopes to inspire others to do the same.
“My biggest accomplishments are becoming board certified in plastic surgery as well as writing a cookbook and, of course, my family,” she said. “Some of the things that terrified me the most were growing a social media account, which I have done successfully, and beginning as a plastic surgeon. I became busy very quickly as I also started multiple other business that have blessed me tremendously.”
