Art comes to us in all shapes and sizes, colors and textures. Depending on the artist, the piece you receive will be a unique representation of the work they do, their feelings, their emotions, and their beliefs. That is why no artist is like the other. However, beautiful art pieces can be created as a result of artistic collaborations. This is how Christie Smith’s newest collection Satisfaction came to life.
The Artist Behind the Artwork
Christie Smith was born in Oxford, Alabama and used to be a LPGA teaching professional who left her athletic career aside to pursue her passion as an artist. She is an expressionist and photographer talented enough to own her own art gallery in Laguna Beach, California: Unleashed Art Gallery.
Smith’s persona is the combination of two very successful professional careers. On the one hand, she is a teacher who taught her students with an innovative technique and a deep love of connection. Through her classes, she was able to reach through every student’s unique blockages and unlocked them for the joy of the game. This same joy she helped them find in the game is the one she found in art. Her paintings and photographs are created with vibrant color and texture to communicate that joyful and playful way in which she experiences the world.
This artist says, her goal “is to use artwork to connect with individuals and their unique interpretation of beauty in life.” Which she has continuously done through every single one of her collection. The same goal has been taken into the creation of her most recent collection: Satisfaction.
Satisfaction
In her years as an artist, Christie Smith has not been afraid to express herself and showcase that through her work. Proof of this are her previous collections: Ocean and Abstract, and her Signature Photo Prints. The same passion and hardwork has been put into creating the Satisfaction collection as part of a collaboration with photographer David Stratford.
David Stratford is a California photographer mostly known for the over 10,0000 photographs he took at rock concerts all over Southern California between July 1973 through early 1976. With no training, cameras borrowed from friends and family, and sneaking into concerts, his work documented the incredible energy and emotion he witnessed on stage iconic legends such as Mick Jagger. Now, Christie Smith has taken his incredible work to the next level.
Satisfaction brings Stratford’s photographs into the art gallery work by Smith’s hand. This art gallery owner receives the photographs from the Californian photographer of several well-known Rock & Roll Stars. From there on, Smith does what she is known for: creating a masterpiece. She enhances the photograph and uses resin mixed with metal flakes to create a unique piece of art. Customers can then purchase this beautiful piece through Unleashed Art Gallery.
Every piece in the collection can be customized. Clients are able to request a specific size and color they want their portrait to be done in. And Christie Smith plans on adding more legends to the collection so every customer can have their favorite Rock & Roll singer in the size and color of their liking. Her collaboration with Stratford will only continue to grow from here.
A Beautiful Collaboration
Artistic collaborations always lead to beautifully created pieces of art. Christie Smith’s talent continues to shine as she works on the Satisfaction collection based on David Startford’s photographs. This is now offered exclusively through Unleashed Art Gallery and anyone interested in buying a piece can contact them directly for further inquiries.
